This is my Birth Day.

…is not just a line from “We are lovers of the Truth”, the song that I’m releasing today. I am releasing the song as a landmark… I turn 25 today.

the song (I should warn you) is not all bells and lollipops and birthday cake. I have been in a difficult and dark place since leaving Pendle Hill, losing a relationship that was very dear to me and setting out to find my way in this very difficult American adult world.

The core of the song, however, expressing a love and acceptance for even the most difficult of truths, is consistent with the energy of birth.

As I found in my conversational explorations at Pendle Hill with Ken Jacobsen and Dana, to give birth is the ultimate act of unselfish love… and to love a person or a situation “just the way it is”, fully embracing the truth and being washed over by love, is to give life.

May we all give ourselves the opportunity to experience this type of living.

love,
jon
