Major Website Overhaul

Heyo!

If you follow this website at all, you’ve noticed some things changing. Like everything.

One thing about doing everything myself is that I get to envision how the entire artist gets puts together and presented. Also, that I have to be the one to do that. Not something I’ve had any experience at, so I’m learning on the fly (aren’t we all).

So for the past five years, since I first started exploring a web presence, I have been trying to narrow things down. What is my voice? What template does it fit into? I’m not just a musician, I’m not just a blogger, not just a Quaker, etc. But things seem to be settling down into a rhythm, or maybe will soon, so it seemed like a good time to re-vision how I wanted to use jonwatts.com

I’m hoping it will be more of a place where I can use my own, natural voice, since I am hand programming the website anyway. That seems to be the direction that the whole web is taking: more personal, more real. Less third person. Which makes sense.

I am finding that I really just want to be able to write on this site more casually. Maybe someday the blog will be a totally separate thing from all the videos, etc that I’ve been posting here.

Anyway, the whole look and feel of the site has changed dramatically in the past two months, and I’ve been slaving away over redesigning the store and the lyrics and listen pages in anticipation of some major events coming up soon. But first, I have to complete my commitment to make a video out of every song on Clothe Yourself in Righteousness. Only two songs left to go!!!

peace
Jon
