The lyrics, particularly the line about “I’m not a Christian, but I’m a Quaker”, bothered me in the same way that they bothered my mother [but] I did a little… research… This song is a testimony from one point along his journey from being a un-Bible-d liberal Friend to very possibly becoming a deeply spiritual, faithful leader in the community.”
