The Art of Fully Being

Deepening and expanding upon the previous year’s A Few Songs Occasioned and his subsequent convincement of Quakerism, Jon wrote and recorded “The Art of Fully Being” at the Pendle Hill Quaker Retreat Center, a haven of personal growth and spiritual exploration.

Delving into his own personal stories, Jon’s songwriting is raw, often stream-of-consciousness and ranges from our species’ destruction of the planet (“We Are Lovers of Our Lost Earth”) to growing up Quaker (“Friend Speaks My Mind”) to the story of Jon’s mentor Tom Fox, who lost his life while serving as a Christian Peacemaker in Baghdad during the Iraq War (“There’s a Spirit in Iraq”).
